Martin Luther King Day

We are very excited this week about MLK Jr Day! Compounded by the excitement of the inauguration! It is going to be an exhilarating week!

I learned a valuable lesson this week... do NOT wait until the weekend OF a holiday to find a book at the library :( . We were limited, to say the least, on book options. I found 2 age appropriate (I hope) books, but I have no idea what the are in the books. I'll preread them when I get them!
They are Happy birthday, Martin Luther King / by Jean Marzollo
and
What is Martin Luther King, Jr., Day? / by Margot Parker

For a craft I (once again) used The Holiday Zone for ideas. We are going to make a mutlicultural hand wreath & a milk carton bus (while explaining Mrs. Rosa Parks).

She will also be reading more of her Bob Books. She has read the first 3 ALL BY HERSELF! She she'll be reading #4 in the set at least, I am positive she'll ask for more! She is doing so great in her reading!

Music: She has started piano lessons!! She loves them so much it is killing her to have to wait an entire week for her next one!
